Music

This is the link for the solo for God is Great, God is Good so that you can practice for the solo and speaking part.  We will sing this on Sunday, February 16 at the 9 am service.  Mrs Fry   Link HERE

Handbell Choir

Knox Handbells meets on Thursdays evenings from 6:30 - 7:30 pm in the choir room.  Practice for handbells is right before the Chancel Choir practice.

Have you ever wondered how those people in the handbell choir make such wonderful sounds from those beautiful bronze handbells?  Come and check it out.

If you read music or can count, we can teach you the rest! Knox Handbells rings in church about once a month.  Our handbells have five full octaves and three octaves of choir chimes.

Chancel Choir

Adult participation in the music ministry at Knox includes the Chancel Choir, which meets Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. We know there are many of you who enjoy listening to the choir, but we want you to sing WITH the choir! Why not try it!  You’ll have a reserved seat, one of the best in the sanctuary! You don’t have to have a great voice or sing a solo – just come because you love music! Consider it “giving back.” We promise you will have fun!

Email Jan Parry or call 630-615-4317. The choir usually sings for the 9:00 a.m. Sunday service and is led by our Director of Music, Curt Parry. The Chancel Choir sings a wide variety of published works, from Handel to the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.

Praise Team

The Praise Team uses contemporary music to support the pastoral teaching of the day at the 10:30 am worship services. These high-energy, family-friendly servies use a guitars, keyborad, bass, and drums to accompany praise and worship choruses, worship songs, and even traditional hymns that probably sound a bit differnt without the pipe organ!

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary.  We also rehearse from 7:30 - 8:15 am on Sundays.

If you are interested in singing or playing the guitar, please contact Jan Parry.

Children & Youth Choir & Dance

Children’s Singing In Worship Schedule

During our Wednesday Night program, the children have an opportunity to learn new songs for morning worship services.  We work hard on the music and also gain perspective on how it fits into the worship service.  The children learn how to contribute their talents (no matter what size!) to the worship of God.  A worthy and valuable lesson!

Primetime (K-2nd grade) & Jam (3rd-5th grade)

Blessed Ballerinas Blessed Voices are adorable children ages 3-6 who meet Sundays and usually perform at the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday morning.  Contact Erin Hartman or Jan Parry if you have any questions.

Prime Time is our choir of Kindergarten through 2nd grade children who meet as part of Wednesday Nights at Knox.

Prime Time Children’s Choir was formed to help children Kindergarten through 2nd grade learn how to praise God with their singing!  They actually know how, but now they can do it with all their friends. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings beginning at 5:00 in the choir room.

G3 - Middle School youth choir meets in conjunction with the Wednesday Nights at Knox.  At this age level, we broaden the music opportunities to include not just vocal participation, but also instrumental.  On occasion, those students who study instrumental music in the schools or study piano privately have an opportunity to play for the other students in Wednesday Nights at Knox music program and/or the worship services.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Jan Parry or call directly to 630-615-4317.
