Frequently Asked Questions

When are the church's services?

We have two services every Sunday morning - 9:00 am and 10:30 am that are 60 minutes each and a service every Saturday @5pm.

What are Knox services like?

Knox Presbyterian worship services focus on fellowship, worship, great music, and a message from one of our pastors. We share announcements, sing songs, pray, and hear teachings from the Bible. The 9:00 am service is more traditional and features our Chancel Choir and familiar hymns.  Our 5 pm Saturday service and 10:30 am Sunday service are more contemporary, less formal, and  feature our Praise Team on Sunday and acoustic accompaniment on Saturday.  Our Saturday service also offers a more intimate setting and enhanced opportunities for  interaction via text messaging for prayers or offerings.

We have large screens at the front of our Sanctuary that we use to display scripture, pictures, and song lyrics.  The message delivered at all services is the same.

We practice the sacrament of the Lord's Supper the first Sunday of each month and on special holy days. All are welcome to take part in this celebration.  If you need personal prayer, prayer teams are always available after every service in our chapel next to the sanctuary.

Coffee, refreshments, and fellowship are available between our two worship services in Fellowship Hall (10 am -10:30 am Sundays). Tables and chairs are also available so that you can comfortably enjoy drinks and fellowship.

How do I get to Knox and where do I park?

On Sunday mornings, handicapped and senior parking is available in the church lot on Catalpa Lane (east of the church building).

Additional parking is available in the center and western section of the Naperville Plaza parking lot across from the church as well as the entire PNC Bank parking lot across Gartner Road.

Where should I go when I arrive?

When you arrive you will be greeted by our welcome team at the front door. They will be happy to direct you to worship services, Sunday School, restrooms, coat racks, or whatever you may need. Our Welcome Cafe is just to the left as you enter the front doors. Stop by the Cafe, we look forward to meeting you!

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you like to wear. Some people come in their Sunday best and others come in jeans and t-shirts. Come as you like.

Will I have to say anything, sign anything, or be singled out?

Rest assured that you won't be put on the spot, singled-out, or embarrassed. We have a guest packet filled with information about our church that you might find helpful. Pick one up at the Information Desk.

What about my kids?

A well-staffed nursery and childcare rooms are available during all services for children entering Kindergarten in the fall and younger. The nursery and childcare are located just past the sanctuary. We have a secure check-in process for all children and parents of nursery children get a pager to alert them of any concerns.

When Sunday School meets, which is most Sundays, the youngest class is for 3 year olds. This class meets during both services in the classroom next to the nursery and childcare rooms. The older preschool children (4 years old as of September 1 and older) attend the PreK and Kindergarten Sunday School class.

Our Sunday School program is available for children 3 year olds through Middle School, and is offered during both our 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. Children in all classes except the youngest class for 3 year olds begin worship with their families. After our children's message during the worship service children are invited to attend Sunday School. Your children are welcome in worship and may stay with you if you choose. In Sunday School your child will experience discussion, drama, crafts, games and small groups as Bible stories and scripture are explored and related to their own lives.  More information on our Sunday School program can be found here.

High School youth are encouraged to worship at any service. The High School Bible study is on Wednesday nights and also Sunday nights.  More information on our High School youth programs can be found here.
